Patients听for Patient Safety Canada is seeking听art听submissions for an online exhibition听honouring World Patient Safety Day,听September 17, 2021,听on this year鈥檚听theme听of听鈥淪afe听maternal and newborn care鈥�.听听
On World Patient Safety听Day听we will launch an additional virtual art exhibition, HeART of Healthcare: Safe and Respectful Maternal and Newborn Care, which will include works in various media including: paintings, fibre art, poetry, stories, sculpture, dance, and music. 听
The aim of World Patient Safety Day 2021 is to raise global awareness on the issues of maternal and newborn safety, particularly during childbirth. Childbirth should be safe and respectful for all people in Canada. People should have their choice of birthing options and the medical support necessary to ensure they and their babies are safe before, during, and after birth. All people in Canada should feel supported, respected and safe, and everyone should have the same access to safe and quality care, including those living in rural, remote and isolated communities.
