Patientsfor Patient Safety Canada is seekingartsubmissions for an online exhibitionhonouring World Patient Safety Day,September 17, 2021,on this year’sthemeof“Safematernal and newborn care”.
On World Patient SafetyDaywe will launch an additional virtual art exhibition, HeART of Healthcare: Safe and Respectful Maternal and Newborn Care, which will include works in various media including: paintings, fibre art, poetry, stories, sculpture, dance, and music.
The aim of World Patient Safety Day 2021 is to raise global awareness on the issues of maternal and newborn safety, particularly during childbirth. Childbirth should be safe and respectful for all people in Canada. People should have their choice of birthing options and the medical support necessary to ensure they and their babies are safe before, during, and after birth. All people in Canada should feel supported, respected and safe, and everyone should have the same access to safe and quality care, including those living in rural, remote and isolated communities.
